I wanted something to catch the stray bits of paper that are always circling my bag or purse. I love fun and whimsy, so remembering the Jacobs Ladder toy and how it was made led me to the 1930s-style mechanism. Now I have a fun, easy-to-use folder for my ephemera—and I dare say it's nearly impossible to put down once you start.

This is a zero waste product, which means it is made of remnant leather. You select the color family you prefer. There will be variation in color depending on what you choose; it may not perfectly match the photos on the website. Please note we are not able to perfectly render each leather color.

We use full grain leather and made with the utmost attention to detail. This is a zero waste product, which means this is made of remnant leather. The leather will have beauty marks (some might still call them flaws), but built-in character is guaranteed. 

If you'd like us to add that stained and aged vintage look, we are happy to do that as long as you understand it's not a controlled process, it's not duplicatable, and every one will be unique.

We will be happy to add your inscription on the back of the folder as well.

Level 3 — Standard Stuffable · 3–4 inserts

  • 4 · High Capacity — Traveler’s Notebooks with elastic closures that love layered, “chunky” journaling setups.
  • 5 · Maximalist — trifolds and leather wrap styles for generous, overflowing notebooks and keepsakes.
Strap-closure designs are most content with three to four average inserts and a dashboard or two that do not exceed 1.25 inches or 2.7cm. The strap keeps everything neat and secure, but it does not stretch like elastic, so a moderate, tidy setup is ideal.
