A5 Softbound Brown Leather Rebind with Green Edges

138.00

This book began as a rebind.

I took the existing text block and gave it a new cover in brown vegetable-tanned leather, the kind of leather that will deepen, soften, and gather marks with use.

The pages are faintly lined in soft peach, light enough to stay in the background but lovely enough to notice. The edges are finished with gold gilt, with green art gilt that peeks through when the book is open.

It also has dark green headbands and a dark green ribbon bookmark, tying the whole book together in a simple, traditional way.

It measures approximately 8.25" tall by 5.75" wide.

This is a one-of-a-kind rebind, made for someone who loves old books, useful paper, and leather that tells the truth about being handled. It has the structure of a softbound book, the character of a found object, and the warmth of something made by hand.

This is an experimental piece and should be understood as a one-of-a-kind handmade book, not a factory-perfect product. Because this is an experimental piece, I have priced it accordingly.

Stuffability Scale
A guide to how much this cover likes to be filled.
Level 1 — Ultra Slim · 1–2 inserts
  • 1 · Ultra Slim — folio and bookcover designs for a single notebook or bound book, occasionally a second very slim companion.
  • 2 · Slim Everyday — ideal for 2–3 inserts and a simple, graceful daily carry.
  • 3 · Standard Stuffable — designs with strap closures, happiest with 3–4 average inserts and a little room for dashboards.
  • 4 · High Capacity — Traveler’s Notebooks with elastic closures that love layered, “chunky” journaling setups.
  • 5 · Maximalist — trifolds and leather wrap styles for generous, overflowing notebooks and keepsakes.
Folio and bookcover styles are happiest with a single notebook or bound book, sometimes a second very slim insert. Think “quiet companion,” not “packed trunk”.
