The sample photos show no holes because they feature a number 10 design, which doesn’t include them. If your chosen design has holes on the exterior, your spine will match that pattern perfectly.

 

You can even request a different leather for the spine in your order notes—though we recommend selecting from the same collection for the best match. Please note, substitutions may be necessary if certain leathers are out of stock.

Strap-closure designs are most content with three to four average inserts and a dashboard or two that do not exceed 1.25 inches or 2.7cm. The strap keeps everything neat and secure, but it does not stretch like elastic, so a moderate, tidy setup is ideal.

The external spine customization helps the journal to be able to stand on end in your library, if you choose to store your journal this way. Use Build-a Journal as reference to be able to choose the customization for responding to the CS order confirmation you receive as to the customization you desire.
