Maplewood is a full grain, vegetable tanned leather with a smooth surface and a structured feel that softens over time. It develops a warm, golden patina with use.

Maplewood is available in both natural and hand dyed colors. The natural option begins light and darkens significantly with handling and exposure to light, developing into a rich brown over time. Hand dyed finishes are completed in our workshop and will vary slightly from piece to piece.

Care: Condition it once or twice a year. Once if you live in a high humidity climate, and twice if the climate is dry. Our Leather Balm is a great choice!

Level 3 — Standard Stuffable · 3–4 inserts
  • 1 · Ultra Slim — folio and bookcover designs for a single notebook or bound book, occasionally a second very slim companion.

Strap-closure designs are most content with three to four average inserts and a dashboard or two that do not exceed 1.25 inches or 2.7cm. The strap keeps everything neat and secure, but it does not stretch like elastic, so a moderate, tidy setup is ideal.
