Maplewood is a full grain, vegetable tanned leather with a smooth surface and a structured feel that softens over time. It develops a warm, golden patina with use.

Maplewood is available in both natural and hand dyed colors. The natural option begins light and darkens significantly with handling and exposure to light, developing into a rich brown over time. Hand dyed finishes are completed in our workshop and will vary slightly from piece to piece.

Strap-closure designs are most content with three to four average inserts and a dashboard or two that do not exceed 1.25 inches or 2.7cm. The strap keeps everything neat and secure, but it does not stretch like elastic, so a moderate, tidy setup is ideal.

Gorgeous

This leather is absolutely gorgeous and it smells amazing. It’s a little stiff but I like that. I believe it will soften a bit in time. The color will change and patina, so if you don’t want that, this is not the leather for you. With every day handling it is already getting a shine to it. It’s just so beautiful! It will show wear, but it seems it will age so beautifully. I am loving it!

Lovely and Perfect

Switching from rings to traveler’s notebook for the first time ever and Chic Sparrow did not disappoint! The leather is soft and feels nice, and she has a wonderful leather aroma. The craftsmanship and stitching is so well done and the inscription is perfect. The color is gorgeous and I am happy to see how she changes as we age. Very lovely. This is high quality, beautiful leather that will only get better in time. The size is a little larger than I imagined, which is perfect. I plan on using this piece for many years and will be back to add to my collection.

This one grew on me

This one grew on me. I saw it a lot on YouTube and liked how it patina over time. At first I wasn't sure how I felt yet only because I'm more of a soft floppy leather person but I grew to love this TN. I'm very drawn to it and love using it. Didn't take too long to adjust to it. I'm beginning to be fan of this shop.

Beautiful and versatile TN

I've been wanting an undyed TN for a long while. When this appeared on the site, I ordered it immediately. When the package arrived and I opened it, the product did not disappoint. It is soft, smells amazing and is incredibly functional. I have an A5 Hobonichi Cousin tucked in the back, an A5 notebook, and a planner sticker folder on the strings. There is room for more on the strings. I also have several stickers and cards tucked in the pockets in the front. I love it and can't wait to see it change as it patinas over time. Another Chic Sparrow win!
